Scams and fraud

Protect yourself from scams and fraud

Scams and fraudulent schemes are set up to dishonestly con you out of your money. These schemes  can take many forms and you may be contacted by scammers through the post, phone calls, text messages, emails, or even by someone calling on you at home.

Sheriff court (Scotland)

In Scotland, the sheriff court deals with legal proceedings regarding most sorts of debt. Occasionally, a case may be transferred to the court of session, but only if the matter is considered exceptionally complex. Read more about what happens when creditors take action in the sheriff court.
